We process the following information from you:

  1. Information you give us.  Information that you provide by filling in forms on our website sharmamedia.co.uk.  This includes information you provide when you register to use our website, request marketing information, use our online chat feature, enter a competition, promotion or survey and when you report a problem with our site.  The information you give us may include your name, address, company name, email address and phone number.
  2. Details of your visit to our website.  We collect non-personally identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available.  This includes, but is not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and records of how you navigate the pages on our site and how you interact with the pages.
  3. IP addresses.  We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers.  This is statistical data about our users’ growing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.
  4. We process information you give us and that we collect about you for the following purposes:
    • a.) To ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer.
    • b.) To provide you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes.

We do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to our advertisers, but we may provide them with aggregate information about our users (for example, we may inform them that 1000 men aged under 40 years of age have click on their advertisement on any given day).  We may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers reach the kind of audience they want to target (for example, women in WC2H).  We may make use of the personal data we have collected from you to enable us to comply with our advertisers’ wishes by displaying their advertisement to that target audience.
  4. We may disclose your personal information to third parties:
    • a.) In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
    • b.) If Sharma Media Ltd. or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets.
    • c.) If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our terms of use or terms and conditions of supply and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sharma Media Ltd., our customers, or others.  This includes exchanging information with our companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
  5. We will not share your personal information with or sell it to third-party marketers. We may use the third-party service providers to process and store your data.

The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”).  It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers.  Such staff maybe engaged in, among other things, the fulfilment of your order, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services.  By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing.  We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.
  1. Automated decision making

We do not make automated decisions about you based on your information.

Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmission to our website; any transmission is at your own risk.  Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

  4. the right to object to processing of your information where it is likely to cause or is causing damage or distress.  You can notify us of your objection to us processing your personal data using the contact details set out in section 13;
  5. the right to prevent us processing your information for direct marketing purposes.  We will usually inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes.  You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data.  You can also exercise the right at any time by contacting us using the details set out in section 13, below;
  6. the right to object to decisions being made about you by automated means.  We will inform you if your information is subject to automated processing;
  7. the right, in certain circumstances, to have your information rectified, blocked, erased or destroyed if it is inaccurate;

    • a.) We will be allowed to charge you for our reasonable administrative costs in collating and providing you with details of the requested information which we hold about you, if your request is clearly unfounded or excessive.
